Burlap & Barrel Szegedi 178 Hot Paprika

Szegedi 178 is an heirloom variety of hot pepper with an intense, concentrated aroma and long, lingering heat. Grown on a small regenerative farm in Kalocsa, the oldest paprika-growing region of Hungary, the peppers are harvested at peak-ripeness and stored in mesh bags to cure in the open-air. Once dried and ground, they are blended with Noble Sweet Paprika.

Use Szegedi 178 for anything that needs a punch of sweet heat. While it’s the classic choice for chicken paprikash, stuffed cabbage and other traditional Hungarian dishes, this hot paprika can also be added to all sorts of marinades, spice rubs and stews.
