Olio Verde Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Olio Verde's 2024 harvest extra virgin olive oil is made from 100% Nocellara del Belice olives grown on their estate in Castelvetrano, Sicily. This years bottling is brimming with ripe notes of tomatoes, banana and fresh green herbs with hints of white pepper. And just like the harvests before, this olive oil boasts its signature unctuous and velvety mouthfeel. A medium to robust oil.
Awards
An all-purpose olive oil—use on everything and anything from delicate crudo and platters of fresh seafood to classic Sicilian and Southern Italian dishes like caponata and grilled swordfish with capers.
Upon its release in 1989, Olio Verde was a turning point for Sicily. It's the first olive oil made from a single cultivar, the Nocellara del Belice olive grown on the Pignatelli family's historic estate in Castelvetrano, Sicily. Farmed using ecological methods, the olives are harvested in early October while they are still bright green—imparting a singular flavor onto the oil—and are milled on the estate within hours of being picked.
Notable Mentions: We agree with The Kitchn that, "A bottle of really good olive oil may be the most versatile gift you can give a cook."
