Yuzu Temple Tea by Mariage Frères
Fragrant Green Tea with Japanese Citrus from Famed French Tea House
Tea Type: Green
Flavor: Vibrant green tea perfumed with dried pieces of yuzu peel. When brewed, this tea has a bright, flowery aroma with a crisp citrus finish.
Drink this tea with: Feel the power of yuzu - drink with a slice of rich, decadent Chocolate Yuzu Cake.
Cooking with tea: Take iced tea to the next level - make an tea granita. Combine 2 cups hot brewed Yuzu Temple with ½ cup of sugar. Stir mixture until sugar is dissolved and add ½ teaspoon fresh lemon zest. Pour into a shallow pan and place in freezer. Every half hour, remove pan from freezer and scrape mixture with a dinner fork to break up any ice crystals. Continue this process until mixture is frozen into light, airy flakes of sweetened tea. For a fun presentation, serve granita in a tea cup.
Words from Mariage Frères tea house: “This surprising blend, with its evocative name, is based on a fine green tea. It boasts the pleasantly round acidity of citrus fruit, the aromatic richness and peppery notes of mild spices, plus the rind of real Japanese Yuzu (halfway between lemon and mandarin orange). Resolutely exotic.”
