Delicately Spiced French Black Tea from Famed Parisian Tea House

Tea type: Black

Flavor: Alexandra David Neèl is a lightly spiced black tea with warm notes of clove, ginger, cinnamon & cardamom.

Drink this tea with: A slice of orange-scented olive oil cake, fresh berries and a dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream.

Cooking with tea: Tea cake takes on a whole new meaning – create a decadent tea-infused rhum baba.

Words from Mariage Frères tea house: “This blend is inspired by the famous Orientalist and Asian explorer Alexandra David-Neel, who was also a great tea-lover. The black tea harkens back to China and the tea route; the broad range of spices (including pepper, clove, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom) recalls Neel's personal quest for the distant Orient; and the fresh, floral note evokes the benefits and plenitude of meditation.”

Tea arrived promptly and all the choices are yummy. I only wish it were less expensive to mail

Tea with a Zing

This tea arrived yesterday, and I brewed a two-cup pot this morning. A very impressive blend with a spicy zing to it - - imparts warmth and a general feeling of comfort and well being. This tea is a keeper.

Wonderful spicy tea.

I also go back and forth between the Chandernagor Chai tea and Alexandra David Neel. Very subtle difference between the two -- Alexandra David Neel is maybe a little 'softer, more rounded' chai tea. Either one makes a perfect cup.

Beautiful chai tea, even if it's not called chai!

This is a lovely spicy tea; I go back and forth between this one and Chandernagor as my fave Mariages Freres chai. You definitely taste the cloves, ginger, and cinnamon in this tea. Perfect for a cold day--warms you right up!

Heavenly

It's a perfect blend. Not too fruity or flowery. All the flavors are wonderful. Each sip is an experience to be savored. I'm seeing stars. This is toe curling good. Very happy. I like it better than Marco Polo and I love Marco Polo. Six stars !
