Marqués de Valdueza Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This current harvest extra virgin olive oil from Spain's Marqués de Valdueza is alive with verdant notes of tomato vine, green almond and herbs. A slight bitterness on the palate becomes a lingering spiciness that rounds out this olive oil nicely. Marqués de Valdueza specializes in Morisca, Arbequina, Picual, and Hojiblanca olive varieties, carefully farmed and milled all on the MdV estate near Mérida in the Extremadura region. A medium to robust-intensity oil.
A great finishing oil, it shines drizzled over grilled vegetables and poached seafood. During summer, we use it as a garnish for refreshing gazpacho. This extra virgin olive oil also makes a wonderful dipping oil with a sprinkling of spices, like dukkah or za'atar.
Marqués de Valdueza extra virgin olive oil is produced from olives grown on the Álvarez de Toledo family estate, 'Perales de Miraflores', near the town of Merida in Extremadura, Spain. Bottled to order, Marqués de Valdueza olive oil is processed in the mill located directly on the estate, ensuring the freshest possible product.
