So, I started on a Matzah ball kick about a year ago and had been using the schmaltz I rendered myself for a while and could never get the savory flavor i was looking for in them ( I was baptized Methodist so i don't know whats actually kosher or not). That said, this has to be one of the most versatile fats I've used , not only did it add the savory to my matzah balls, but something as simple as grilled cheese has something to gain from this, I've recommended it once and will do it again and again.
