The name of these pasta ribbons comes from the the Italian word tagliare, meaning "to cut," and indeed tagliatelle were traditionally hand cut with a knife. The shape is mostly associated with Bologna, where it is usually served with (what else?) Bolognese sauce. But tagliatelle is popular all around Italy, commonly tossed with cream or butter-based sauces.

Outstanding product

My Mother's family is from Scontrone, Abruzzo so anytime I find a product from that region I have to sample it. The Tagliatelle was given to me by my daughter-in-law and I will be ever grateful to Mari. I would be looking forward to the other products but it is hard to give up my tagliatelle. Love touring Italy and love this pasta!!!
