
Acetaia Leonardi Il Pregiato 10 Year Balsamic
Il Pregiato (the precious one) is young and bright, lean and straight-forward. This balsamic vinegar, aged for 10 years, is ideal to enliven grilled mushrooms and meats, to splash over sautéed duck breast during the the last minute of cooking or to add that extra spark to beautifully composed salads. (We especially suggest salads featuring walnuts, pecans or almonds so that the oaky aroma of the vinegar can complement the toasty nut flavors.)
Acetaia Leonardi has been making balsamic vinegar in Modena, Italy since 1871 and they are still one of the few producers to own the land where the grapes grow. Four generations in, the Leonardi family is still making this celebrated condiment using traditional methods, such as cooking the Lambrusco and Trebbiano grape must in a copper cauldron and aging the vinegar in special wooden barrels. The result is perfectly balanced vinegar worthy of the name balsamico.
