Umbrian lentils were delicious
I ordered the Umbrian Lentils for a recipe I saw in Milk Street magazine, and they were terrific. I am eager to use them in other dishes.
After visiting the Umbrian region of Italy last year, I bought these lentils to bring home. What a difference‼️Love them, they're the only lentils I'll be using going forward. So glad I found a site to purchase them, without the astronomical shipping costs of other companies.
I purchased these to use in a main dish salad along with oven dried tomatoes and blue cheese. They worked out great, holding their shape and making for a wonderful dish.
One of the healthiest foods you can make, these in particular are also the best tasting and highest quality! I use them for an old family recipe for lentil soup from Calabria where my Mother Albina was born. Whenever I make this hearty , substantial dish, I think of her, my grandmother and our family stories. The lentils cook up tender and rich but never muddied with a subtle exquisite flavor enhanced by the other ingredients. I can't recommend them more highly than to say they are the ONLY lentils I use when I make my family's soup!
