French Green Lentils from Le Puy

Puy lentils are grown in the volcanic, mineral-rich soil of the Auvergne region in southern central France. They are packed with heart-healthy iron, potassium, calcium, folate and magnesium (to name just a few), and are also chock-full of fiber and lean protein, which release a slow-burning energy that keeps you going all day long.

Their taste and texture set them apart too; they hold their shape beautifully after cooking and their nutty, earthy and vegetal flavor shine through in all kinds of cooking. Use these French green lentils in both hot and cold preparations—add to hearty soups, toss into salads or try our recipe for Lentil Ragù with Poached Eggs, Chilies & Mint .

So delicious - sweet and delicate and never get soft.

I love these lentils because they’re nutritionally dense and so, so delicious. I simmer 1c. Of lentils to 3c. Water and add 3/4c. Dehydrated veggies - carrots, potatoes, onions etc. wonderful sweet flavor! Add a little EVOO and garlic and it’s heaven. I mix them with pasta and marinara topped with Parmesan and with fava bean tofu and get perfectly full with nutritious, real food. I used to eat Rawseed Black Caviar lentils until I found these. They’re delicious lentils!

Awesome

These are definitely worth 'MAIL ORDERING' -- you can't get them in any local stores here. Made a lentil stew (potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, onion, garlic and lots of spices) -- these lentils are totally wonderful -- my favorite of all lentils.

These Are So Yummy!!!

These are the best lentils I have ever had. I simply cook up a batch and season with salt pepper. They are so flavorful! The cooking instructions are on the box - basically a one to three ratio of lentils to water and they cook up in about 20 mins.

Lentils of Terroir

These lentils really are worth it, and as one reviewer said, there is a difference. We like these in the winter, cooked with some carrots, onion, Roma tomatoes, thyme and chicken apple sausages - and the taste makes you think you're in an old farmhouse in central France, near Le Puy (also known for its handmade lace).

Wonderfully nutty, amazing texture

I didn't think this lentil could live up to all the hype. After all, it's just a lentil. Boy...was I wrong. They're nutty, full of flavor and stay firm after cooking. They deserve all the hype. I'm a believer.
