Dried Provençal Thyme Leaves from France
Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is a government designation linking a product to a place, similar to the Italian PDO for Prosciutto di Parma or Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Albert Ménès PGI French Thyme is from the Southern French region of Provence, which has a rich history of harvesting and drying wild thyme. What sets Provençal thyme apart from others is its distinctly spicy, pungent aroma. Additionally, Albert Ménès PGI French Thyme is harvested by a local agricultural cooperative, which rigorously selects and inspects the herbs for quality in order to bear the coveted PGI title.
How to use
An essential component of bouquet garni, thyme is often combined with bay leaf and parsley in a cheesecloth sachet to flavor broths, soups and liquids for braising and poaching. Sprinkle PGI French Thyme into classic French dishes like ratatouille or beef Bourguignon, or combine with lemon juice, zest and garlic to make a bright and earthy spice rub for chicken before it hits the oven.
