Speculoos cookies are arguably one of the most popular baked goods of Belgium. These cookies are crisp and buttery, highlighting warm spices like cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and pepper. The addition of organic dark brown sugar gives the speculoos a rich, molasses-like flavor. These spiced Belgian cookies are traditionally served alongside a cup of coffee, but are equally delicious shared over a pot of tea or mugs of hot chocolate.
Each cookie is stamped with a design paying homage to Belgium—an umbrella for the frequent summer showers, a bird referencing one of Belgium’s national sports, pigeon racing, and finally, a Belgian house inspired by the medieval-style buildings of Ghent.
