Fusilli al Ferretto Pasta from Rustichella d'Abruzzo
Fusilli al Ferretto is a shape from Calabria in Southern Italy, where it is traditionally made by wrapping strands of pasta around a knitting needle-shaped stick. With their twisting shape and five- or six-inch length, these noodles resemble soft, loose hair curls. They are gorgeous piled up in a serving dish.
Fusilli al Ferretto pairs wonderfully with spicy Southern Italian flavors like tomato sauce spiked with the typical Calabrese sausage, nduja, or just olive oil, garlic and pepperoncini.
