Bright, glistening and translucent as stained glass in the center, these whole candied orange slices make totally gorgeous confections and cake decorations. They are silky and chewy, with honey-like flavor and a very subtle bitterness in the peel. About a quarter-inch thick, the round orange slices are substantial enough to dip in dark chocolate and eat like candy, and delicate enough for decorating. Leave them whole or slice and arrange atop an orange and almond torte or a citrus pound cake. Or place one slice apiece on top of orange chocolate cupcakes.
