Cake in a can? You better believe it!
Made simply with almonds, Charente-Poitou butter, eggs, sugar and pure vanilla, the cake has a moistness and richness that you won't believe. Though the cake is small in size (8 inches in diameter), it'll easily serve 4 hungry guests. It's also available in the delicate lemon version.
This gluten-free cake cake is made with a butter so esteemed that its production is protected by the French government; it's baked and shipped in a can to allow them to leave out any undesirable preservatives; it's flavored with the most aromatic almonds of the Mediterranean. When we popped the top on this French delicacy, there was a rush to snag a bite. Well, the Delice de l'Amandier delivered…and then some.
We love this cake topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream and a pile of berries.
About the Producer:
These cakes are baked by one of the oldest bakeries in Provence. For over 180 years, the Bédouin family has been creating the classic sweets of southern France in their bakeshop in Saint-Maurice-sur-Eygues. This cake though, may be their crowning achievement.
