The Most Unusual Umami

This extraordinary Korean paste has such an amazing flavor - it's known for its unique umami - and we decided to try combining it with other sauces like Italian tomato sauce (the Olive Tomato Sauce from Rustichella d'Abruzzo is perfect) and see what would happen - it was extraordinary, especially when lightened up by adding a bit of olive oil (we use Olio Verde Extra Virgin Olive Oil for its grassy flavor) - I know it sounds incredibly unlikely, but if you use a smaller amount of the Gochujang, it's an amazingly interesting flavor with rice, pasta, or vegetables!
