Easy-to-Use Brine Mix for Roasts of All Kinds
KL Keller Foodways Brine Mix takes all the guesswork out of making the perfect roast chicken, pork or turkey. A magical combination of dried herbs and spices with outstanding Spanish sea salt, using the brine ensures a moist, tender roast every time. The brine mix is made with unprocessed sea salt (and no anti-caking or flowing agents) which contributes a clean, briny flavor that brings out the best in any roast.
How to Use the Brine Mix
Depending on the size of your roast, you'll want to use more or less brine mix. A good rule of thumb is two cups of brine mix to ten quarts of water. That's a lot—say for a large turkey. For smaller roasts like chicken or pork, cut the amount in half or less. It is best to use a non-corrosive pot, bowl or food-grade plastic sack. Dissolve your brine mix in water and add a crushed head of garlic (optional). Submerge the roast in the dissolved brine solution and refrigerate for about 24 hours for a large turkey, or about 6–8 hours for smaller poultry or pork. When you're ready to cook, remove your roast or bird, and rinse and pat it dry. Cook your meat following your favorite recipe.
