Sicilian Pistachio Spread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Pistacchiosa
This pistacchio spread is creamy & delicious. It seems healthy because its base is olive oil. I enjoyed it drizzled on strawberries over toasted, slice pound cake. My friend put it on plain crackers & then just started eating it out of the jar. I've reordered this for myself & to give as part of a hostess gift. Really awesome product!
I used this paste along with Pariani toasted and ground ( by me) pistachios to make a sable type cookie. They have earned a place on my " must make again" list.
Just made a cookie using a recipe from an Italian sweets book and I was reminded of my childhood love of mass produced Pecan Sandies. It is safe to say that this paste in this recipe blew the doors off of those childhood cookies. Deeevine!
Make certain if you see Pistachiosa at a cocktail party to spoon it onto one cracker and then move away so you are able to share with other guests. Other wise you might do what I did. Eat almost the entire jar!!! A brought another to the hostess the next day.
I am slightly exaggerating but the combination of pastachio and extra virgin olive oil is just too delicious.
