Tender, Pillowy Italian Potato Dumplings

Meet your new go-to easy weeknight meal. These plump, pillowy gnocchi—from master pasta makers Rustichella d'Abruzzo—have the delicate flavor of fresh potatoes and cook up in just 2 minutes. In Italy, potato gnocchi are typically served as a first course (primo piatto), but we love them as a main course alongside a lightly-dressed salad.

How to use

Dress the cooked gnocchi in your favorite tomato sauce, toss with browned butter and sage or serve with a hearty meat ragù. These little Italian dumplings also pair well with cream or butter-based sauces. For an extra indulgent treat, serve potato gnocchi with rich Alfredo sauce laced sliced black summer truffles and topped with plenty of grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.

GNOCCHI

As good a dry store purchased Gnocchi that I’ve found. Like all Rustichella products I use.

Not bad but not a reorder

Not as light and pillowy as I had expected. Don't think I'll order again. But only that product. Other pastas are wonderful and I order only them.

Will purchase again.

I'm not a fan of Gnocchi, mainly because I've only had really good Gnocchi (light, airy little pillows) once and that was in Italy, homemade by a Grandmother. Since all of the Rustichella d"abruzzo pasta is so good, I decided to try the Gnocchi di patate. Truthfully I was surprised by how good they are. Maybe not the lightest, but neither are they 'sit in your stomach' heavy. They definitely have great flavor -- I served them in a tomato based spicy sauce and the flavor still came through. Would be really good with butter, wine & sage type sauce. My husband and I finished the box -- I plan to buy a couple of more boxes to have on hand for a quick dinner. Will add this to my long list of Rusticella d'abruzzo pasta that for me is a pantry must.
