The raspberry, or lampone, is a delicate berry that doesn't often appear in forms other than fresh or made into jam. You get a perfect accompaniment to a bowl of ice cream or yogurt. We also love them spooned over granola or waffles with a dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream. And believe it or not, a few raspberries perched atop a wedge of blue cheese makes an elegant cheese plate.
We'd be remiss if we didn't mention a cocktail...try using raspberries in place of a maraschino cherries in your Manhattans or Old-Fashioneds. And a spoonful of syrup and a rapsberry in that special somone's sparkling wine would make a lovely aperitif!
