Bloody Mary BBQ Sauce

This Kansas City-style barbeque sauce gets a zesty kick from McClure’s Spicy Bloody Mary Mixer.

1 ½ teaspoons canola oil

1 small onion, roughly chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 cup ketchup

1 cup McClure’s Spicy Bloody Mary Mixer

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons lemon juice

½ cup water

¼ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup light brown sugar

In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, sweat onions and garlic in canola oil for 10-12 minutes, until onions are translucent but not browned.

Add ketchup, bloody mary mix, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, lemon juice, water, granulated and brown sugars. Turn heat down to low and simmer for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Place mixture in blender and purée until smooth. Use to brush over rich, meaty pork ribs, mop over melt-in-your-mouth brisket or toss with crispy chicken wings.

McClure's Spicy Bloody Mary Mix

As seen in the New York Times.

From the pickling geniuses of Brooklyn & Detroit comes this spicy concoction that we now, simply cannot live without...your brunch will never be the same.

Starting with their zesty pickle brine, the McClure brothers have added tomato paste, fresh cucumber juice and their secret spices to create a bottle of cure-all.  Just add vodka and your favorite garnishes, (we like pickled peppers and, well, a pickle!), and you've got the perfect brunch cocktail.

And those handsome labels?  They're printed using vegetable inks on presses powered by wind electricity! How's that for a pickle with pedigree?

This is absolutely the best Bloody Mary Mix I (or my two friends with me) have ever had. What a find! It tastes delicious without any liquor as well.
