"Mariage Frères' most famous secret is this mysterious blend that takes you to distant lands and strange countries. The aroma of Chinese and Tibetan flowers and fruit lend it a unique velvety taste. Its extraordinary bouquet makes Marco Polo the most legendary of flavored teas."
From The French Art of Tea
Since 1854, Mariage Frères has been sourcing and blending the worlds' finest teas. And their history goes back even further, to the 1600s in fact, when their ancestors began sailing to distant lands in search of new and exotic flavors. For 150 years, their teas have been brewed at the worlds' finest restaurants, hotels and teahouses.

Once again, the Irishman in me feels traitorous as I should be loyal to the Irish Breakfast, but I've got to say, this is a great cup. I was pleasantly surprised by this tea and will be enjoying it more.

We discovered this tea in Paris in 2007. At first blush, we thought it was weird, but then we couldn't stop thinking about it. Now we haven't stopped drinking it for the last 6 years. We are tea drinkers, but we have made tea drinkers out of many family members by serving them this tea. It is fruitty, flowery yet full-bodied. It is magical. In my mind, best with milk and sugar, but great any way you like it. Thanks to Market Hall Foods for making it available, because this is not easy to find in the US. Enjoy a cup. You'll never regret it.

I discovered Marco Polo tea when I was 10 (40 years ago). At a garage sale I bought a copy of an old french poster of a woman sipping a cup of tea with the words "Marco Polo" across the rim of the cup. I started a long search for the tea. Found it in Paris traveling with my mother when I was 12. At first I could only have it sent direct from France (so expensive). Then a few years later, a gourmet store in New York started to import it (less expensive), then discovered the BEST, Market Hall Foods!

Brew this tea with water just below a boil. Seep for 6 minutes. Add dash of milk to the bottom of your cup then poor in the tea. "Enjoy".
