In the romantically named Cashmere, Washington, Anjou Bakery produces wonderful artisanal loaves of bread daily for their devoted clientele. In a brilliant twist, they've taken their Fruit & Nut Bread, loaded with currants, golden raisins, almonds and pecans, sliced it thin and sprinkled it with sugar crystals. Then they toast the bread to a crispy finish.
We've been filling that afternoon void between lunch and dinner with a nice slice of Wensleydale atop a slice of Fruit Nut Crostini. But they're equally delicious with cheddars, blue cheeses, fresh goat cheeses - you really can do no wrong.

This crispy bread can be eaten with cheese, jam or just alone. Dunk in coffee, tea, milk. It's great with anything. Ice cream, balsamic vinegar.
