As the world grows smaller, we're becoming accustomed to seeing unique ingredients from the far corners of the world. And the more we see from the culinary superpower of Japan, the more intrigued we become and the more hungry we are to learn about this ancient cuisine.

In truth, the cooking style of Italy, with which we're very familiar, isn't so different from Japan.  Both cuisines stress the importance of fresh, seasonal ingredients, prepared simply.
